Normaly you can take a photo of real Geisha/Maiko in Japan, you can understand that they are fake... It is not acceptable for them so you can't be rude to take it. So you have to respect them and culture. At this photo suddenly a Geisha appear at the corner and this photo taken by night without flash, tripod or any other preparation because I try to hide my camera and my movement to show my respect to her. She was not walking! She looks like flying very smoothly and she looks like a fairy..
